About PHFI
The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is a public private initiative launched in 2006, to build institutional and system capacity in India for strengthening education, training, research, technology innovation practice and policy in public health. PHFI’s mandate is to build a ‘Healthier India’ through 3 core missions: a) Developing the public health workforce and setting standards, b) Advancing public health research and technology, c) Strengthening knowledge application and evidence-informed public health practice and policy. The creation of PHFI was enabled by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India and was supported by several state governments, foundations and private sector philanthropy.

About Training Division
The Training Division at PHFI focuses on implementing various capacity-building initiatives that aim to upgrade the knowledge, skills and core competencies of healthcare professionals in clinical conditions and various public health domains. The division has trained more than 45,000 healthcare professionals of which 42% are affiliated to the government sector, through a pool of 112 National Experts, 696 Faculty, more than 633 Training Centres in 127 Cities, 28 States & 5 UTs across India. We have collaborations with 15 State governments and professional bodies/govt. across 10 Countries in South-East Asia and Africa. The division is implementing 30+ training programs and through these programs over the past decade, PHFI has established a robust system for development of new training programs and standardized delivery & monitoring mechanisms as well as a well-defined certification process.
